Sometimes our favorite artists release tracks that are absolute garbage.
Share one here and explain why you hate it.
I fucking HATE Fuel. I always have. Since the first time I heard it when I was fourteen, I knew that this song was everything I hated rolled into four and a half minutes of obnoxious bullshit.
Why do I hate this song? The subject matter is fucking stupid. Metallica always had cool lyrics about politics, death, or social commentary...but this? Cars?! No, not even cars. This song is literally about the liquid shit that males cars run. Dumb as hell. And the prechorus sounds horrible. "Oohhh I burn, fuel is pumping engines! Something something quench my thirst with gasoliiine!"
Metallica...I loved ReLoad, but you guys fucked the pooch on this track.

While I could add every Metallica track here post Black Album minus a select few, Fuel I cannot hate on. It is just a damn fun song to play on the old six string and it’s full of good fast riffs and bluesy licks. The lyrics of course are dumb as fuck, good writing James!

Have to go with Glen on this one.. although I'm biased since one my highschool teacher (Andrew Van Zyl) walks out with that song playing when he's fighting.
(the dude said he was going to knock my teacher out in the first round, haha)

LOL, dude, lighten up, not everything has to be serious and deep, sometimes people just want to jam, and the track is simply that; a fun jam(es), I'm sure James got slightly sick of writing songs about death, politics and shit like that. Also, I doubt you gave a shit about politics, death and society when you were 14, that doesn't sound like something a teenager would give a shit about, I know that because I'm 18 and still don't give a shit. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Such a tired sounding song with a porn stripper vibe, I have no idea why wasn't this pushed back down as a secret track or something, it's so out of place it's unbelievable.

Incredibly boring by Zappa standards. The backing riff is kinda cool and I want to like it even though it sounds so generic... But the dude mumbling in Italian who sounds drunk and horny is just too weird even for me. The song is about an Italian guy having a "giant load of dick" basically. I'm not surprised this song was only ever officially put out in a re-release of Uncle Meat, it never officially belonged to any album or anything.
FWIW, I love the way Fuel sounds and the song's overall structure despite the lyrics being total garbage.

Damn, I am all alone on the Fuel hatred it seems.
I will then post another video.
If I ever hear this song again, it will be way too soon. If this song comes on my car stereo when shuffling music, I skip it every time. The riff is so boring, and the chorus has this try hard vibe (even by their tough guy standards) that I cannot enjoy listening to.

Dude first Fuel and now Walk? You’re verging on hipster territory Chicabro. Are you sure you play guitar?

I kinda understand you about Walk. I can't decide if it's super cool or totally lame. On one hand it's like THE headbang song, but on the other it's just so damn simple I feel kinda stupid when listening to it. I will never hate it because it was one of my first metal songs, but I get you.

Simplicity has nothing to do with good or bad music, it’s the sound, rhythm and soul. If that weren’t true AcDc wouldn’t be a thing.

Next Trace is gonna be like "Raining Blood? MEH overrated shit by tryhards"
EDIT: Actually, it seems like a classic case of "I listened to this too much when I was young and now I'm tired of it" syndrome

@glenzinho don't get me wrong...I love me some Randy. He was Ozzy's best guitarist, bar none. Doomkid actually, that is the one overplayed song that hasn't gotten old for me. haha

Pantera's "walk" song is just cringey, that pseudo tough guy shit is something that needs to stay in the 90's.
I keep trying to think of a song to put here, but I think it often comes down to bands changing lineup and eras of music just not being for me.. hate is too strong a word to use when a band has graced my ears with something that makes me happy and I give them a free pass to do whatever they want while I focus on the next band that's captured my imagination since there's tens of thousands of good bands out there.. (I'll still laugh and maybe even get on my high horse like a snarky pretentious snob if their future endeavors/antics are cringey enough, though... and if their later stuff is ridiculously bad I just pretend they died in a car accident, haha).

I mentioned before that I was going to see In Flames and Five Finger Death Punch in concert. I've now been and half of my concerns were realised! The 5FDP lead singer was in, so that was great and the opening act, Of Mice & Men, were also pretty good, although decidedly generic metalcore, my brother and I thought. In Flames, though, were everything we'd feared. They didn't play anything older than "Soundtrack to Your Escape" ("The Quiet Place" and "Superhero of the Computer Age") and have successfully split their audience so much with their changing style that half of their catalogue falls into the category for this thread... Or they would, but I don't think many people really love them any more as a result. Even they themselves on stage had to try and get the audience to embrace them and get into it and claimed to be a sinking ship. One almost feels sorry for them, until you've heard a couple of songs from their newer three albums, even played live. The worst part is that they're clearly still a great band. The lead singer sounds exactly like he does on the CDs and the rest of the guys all know their shit and can play as technicially as ever. It's a shame, but that's life. Still a great gig overall, even if 5FDP is just a continuation of the "pseudo tough guy shit" being decried above

I have no problems with bands changing their style but IF is a prime example of how to change your style unsuccessfully. Other bands like Amorphis did a much, much better job. Their new stuff is not only boring and uninteresting but also painfully forgettable. The only post-Clayman song I find memorable is Where the Dead Ships Dwell... it's shameful... So yeah almost all their post-Clayman works can easily fit in this threads. Other works from other bands I like include Craft's most recent album Void (I'll just stick to albums because it's much easier and faster than songs). I Want to Commit Murder is the only memorable and good song from the entire album... As misanthropic as the lyrics are and not exactly identifying with much of their works and those that I do are only in a generally metaphorical sense or reinterpreted, I admire the honesty Joakim puts in their music. Another failed release would be Dodsfall's Kaosmalt, none of the songs there come anywhere near Djevelens evangelie or any of their previous works. Yet another, Ragnarok's latest album, god damn it the hell was that... Moving on, Enthroned's Armored Bestial Hell. Not a bad album as a whole, but the production does it 0 justice. Marduk's La Grande Danse Macabre was also mediocre, it would've been good if it stopped after the first 5 or so songs. Emperor's Prometheus, no song clicks... Nokturnal Mortum's To The Gates of Blasphemous Fire, generic and boring songs. Urgehal's Aeons in Sodom. Sodom's Final Sign of Evil, the drumming killed everything... Limbonic Art's The Ultimate Death Worship, such an odd album. Besatt's Nine Sins, generic songs and mediocre lyrics. Carach Angren's This is No Fairytale, not on par with their previous works and nothing stands out. Centinex's Redeeming Filth, a very forced, below average effort, luckily Doomsday Rituals slays. And I think that's it for now.
