Per the suggestion of 40oz , this will be a thread dedicated to various songs I enjoy. It will be mostly metal of varying subgenre, but it won't be limited to that. Sometimes you might find celtic folk, shit that sounds like Byzantine chanting, music you might relate to eastern Asia...it can really be anything. Just don't expect any kind of "step" music, rap, country, or pop...but I guess anything is really possible if I dig it. For my first entry...FUCKIN' SLAYER! 40...if more of these playlist threads come to be...I think it'd be cool to have them pinned or placed in a fashion similar to the "Vordakk Reviews" thread.

Golgotha - What Color Is Death (pre-Acid bath) Rotten Records has been steadily removing everything that is under their ownership from youtube. So...here's an earlier version of the song, from the band Golgotha (basically half the members of Acid Bath before Acid Bath was a thing). Fun fact about cover of the album this song is on (When the Kite String Pops)...it is a copy of a self portrait by the serial killer clown named John Wayne Gacy. Gacy is a local nightmare for people in my area, as his reign of terror was in our neck of the woods. He killed, raped and/or dismembered 33 or 34 teenaged boys in his Norwood Park home in the late 1970s and stored 28 victims' remains in his crawlspace. The other confirmed victims had been disposed of in the Des Plaines River. The house has since been demolished, and has not been replaced, nor has that house number been reused on that street. Before his execution was carried out, Gacy's final spoken words were "Kiss my ass." He was confirmed dead at 12:58AM (CST) on May 10, 1994. Just a neat thing that is relatable for me and people around my area.

Slipknot - Do Nothing/Bitchslap
This song has one of the best bass sections I have ever heard. In this track, you will hear elements of metal, lounge music, and disco.
I know what I wrote. This is Slipknot pre-fame and before Corey Taylor was a member of the band. They were a bit different, but I enjoy it.

Switching gears here. These guys are often considered to be doom metal...but many, if not most, of their songs I wouldn't consider metal at all.
I discovered these guys at like one in the morning on Pandora while going on a walk.
This is one of my favorite albums.

The chorus in this song is one of those things that I can't help but max out my car stereo's volume to.

One of the most underappreciated Sabbath songs.

Haven't shared in a while, so here's another one for you. This is one of my favorite Mushroomhead songs. My favorite part is the ending when J-Mann keeps saying, 'That's just the way the story goes."

I bought this album on Amazon recently. This whole album is an absolutely perfect doom metal album. Great riffs, simplistic yet effective approach, wall of sound, otherworldly vocals (no screaming), and a real crunch to the guitar and bass tones. If you listen to anything off of this album, make it the opening track "Empress Rising" or "Icon".

Hey guys, it's been a while.
I recently purchased an album called IV.I.VIII. by a smalltime band called Coffinworm (band from Northwest Indiana). I am not disappointed.

Just discovered these guys while trying to find something to share with you guys. Holy shit...these guys are insanely heavy. (From Wikipedia) Shrüm was created by the late Audie T. Pitre (former bassist and backing vocalist of Acid Bath) in 1995 when he got the idea of having a band with two bass players. 40oz , deathevokation , and joe-ilya , I think you guys might dig this a lot. But who knows, I could be wrong, too. I suggest going right to the 3:58 mark to listen to my favorite track off of the album, "Virus". I must say, however, that picking a favorite track was nearly impossible.

Despite what the video says, this song is called Generation Hate. It is by Shrüm. I cannot get enough of these guys. Shame this is their only album.

I like some "normie" shit, too. Here's one of my favorite bass solos from the one and only, the almighty Clifford Lee Burton.

Joke band or not...that's debatable for the second and third albums...but even if the first album is undeniably satirical, the musicianship is awesome.

Getting back to what's expected of me. I remember the first time I heard this song...I was sixteen, and my buddy's kid sister woke me up early as Hell when I stayed over once and begged me to drive her to McDonalds. Then she took charge of my auxilery cable.
Was not disappointed.

An old favorite of mine. I loved these guys back in my teen years. Hell, I still do. But for quite some time, these guys were my be all end all when it came to music...even more than Black Sabbath. I had dog tags, hats, shirts...Hell, all I was missing was a leather vest with their patches (but my dad being a cop, he would have never allowed me to wear anything that resembled MC garb)

As a huge Lamb of God fan, I had always known about Burn the Priest, but I actually never listened to them until today.
FUUUUUUUCK I wish I would have listened to these guys back in high school. This sounds awesome.

Rediscovered my love for Rammstein yesterday. This song is lyrically filthy...but it is so catchy.
