Where do you guys stand on climate change? Is it a serious concern for our future and we need to make some changes to prepare for the potential consequences our future generations may have to survive? Or is it some hippy dippy bullshit designed to scare functional and beneficial businesses into taking a massive hit and making room for a future of weaker technology for a problem that will probably never happen?
Living in a part of the world that gets hot hot summers and cold cold winters, I certainly experience the effects of our weather patterns shifting each year. The seasons seem to come later each year and overstay their welcome. We also get crazy spikes in temperature within short periods of time that has become relatively new and increasing in severity in the last couple years. I suspect this could seriously disturb our ecosystem that is barely holding together an exponentially increasing population of humans. I don't have any science to back this up but I believe a lot of shit that I hear.

I don't even want to discuss any other points you made, just this: Something tells me the calendar we use is a bit outdated, as in: Enough time has passed for the calendar to get a bit laggy on stuff, might be a calculating error made waaay back, that just kinda piled up and resulted in a bit of a time-keeping mess. Who even takes care of such issue? Is there even a job for this? That is all. I don't wanna start or end or participate in anything else in this thread. Thanks.

But I want to pretend there's no climate change, just for the sake of not being even more paranoid than I already am.

Who even takes care of such issue? Is there even a job for this? Likely not. Gregorian calendar that we use was specifically designed to reduce offsets as much as possible. For this reason we have 29th of February every 4 years, except every 400th year. This specific 'technique' allows near-perfect synch with the Earth's rotation cycles.

Climate change is undeniably true, to believe otherwise you have discard mountains of supporting evidence in the weak guise that it is all "government lies", I hold no pity or understanding for those in denial:
Is it scary? Yes. Should I deny it existing because it scares me? No.
If something scares me, say like a massive venomous dick eating spider stuck in my room with me only known as Balgamoure the Unstoppable Fang, I don't hide from it, I'd try my best to obliterate it by any means at my disposal.
Granted, global warming is a group effort and I didn't exactly have a party to battle Balgamoure, but it doesn't mean I'm gonna turn a blind eye! I'm a vigilant recycler and keep an ever present hawk eye on my houses smart meter, I walk where I need to go and take public transport if needed.
Little pointless shit like that helps, and that's good enough for me as I've done my part.

My father is a denier and I believed him for a long time. Thankfully, nowadays we have the internet, so instead of just blindly following what your parents say you can research stuff by yourself. But still, if I try to talk to him about this, he'll probably bombard me with arguments I won't be able to answer properly due to not knowing enough.
Anyway, I find it hard to get motivated to put effort into energy saving and stuff when my actions are just a drop in the water compared to what big evil companies do to the environment. Like, how about they change their policies first? Also, currently I'm kind of trying to just survive in this world, so I can't say "saving the planet" (have to put this in quote marks because of George Carlin) is my biggest priority.
I guess that's what makes the issue so tricky. It's a weird collective responsibility thing where nobody wants to inconvenience themselves and just expects others to solve the problem.

It's true without a doubt, I've also noticed for years that the seasons are changing here. Winter, for instance, some 10yrs ago used to be here by the end of November, and now when it finally arrives and snows at some point in December it doesn't usually last more than a week or so before melting because it's still too warm. Moreover, recently there have been snow storms even in April.
The full power of winter is usually revealed only sometime in March where the temperatures also reach their lowest. Summers are also only getting hotter, but surprisingly this year it's also raining much more often, probably one of the best summers in years (for me). In fact, I could say rainy and especially cloudy days have been quite common so far, I see lighting in the distance as I write this.

Yeah it's real. Yeah, it's probably man-made. But the west can fucking recycle and carbon capture as much as they want: the Chinaman, he don't give a fuck, for every atom of carbon we capture, the Chinaman release two.

The climate changes but this has always been true. Hundreds of millions of years ago there was vastly more carbon in the air and the earth was way hotter but life still existed. Not saying climate change can't change the earth and possibly harm some people but I don't buy into the "oh noes we all gonna die!!!" narrative.

I'm in the real basket and my opinion is that all of the private individuals of the world combined wouldn't equal a percentile of carbon expelled by industry.
