Horror punk (sometimes called horror rock) is a music genre that mixes proto-gothic and punk rock sounds with morbid and violent imagery and lyrics, which are often influenced by horror films or science fiction B-movies. The genre is similar to and sometimes overlaps with deathrock, although deathrock leans more towards an atmospheric gothic rock sound while horror punk leans towards a 1950s-influenced doo-wop and rockabilly sound. Horrorpunk music is typically more aggressive and melodic than deathrock.Source: WikipediaHonestly this is one of the gayest music genres I ever listened to. It started with famous punk rock band Misfits, which is pretty good. I had some friends who were super into this for a while. The fashion associated with it was ridiculous. Girls looked like Elvira wearing a Nightmare Before Christmas hoodie, and the dudes wore super tight black jeans, platform shoes, and piercings. If you looked anything like someone from Rocky Horror Picture show or the Addams Family, you were cool. I pretended to like it because I was into punk and it was popular in some areas in the city. It's hard to make friends as a punk so I kept an open mind. I'm glad that part of my life is over lol.
