The buttery sultry voice of the man who famously played God on Bruce Almighty, Morgan Freeman is now on the firing range for sexual misconduct charges. It has recently surfaced, multiple accounts of the actor/narrator making lewd or unwanted comments and advances towards women in public and on the sets of movies/tv shows.
You know when you're watching the final season of a really good tv show, and they start killing off all the good characters and and one-by-one start tying up all the loose ends in the plot? I feel like that's life right now.
The unwanted touching was going too far imo but none of it seems even remotely as bad as some of the other countless allegations we've been seeing nonstop for months now. I've been sexually harassed way worse than this before honestly, one girl I used to work with grabbed my ass against my will petty often. I didn't mind much but it certainly wasn't consensual. A worse example was this huge fat chick who literally forced a kiss on me after a show I played back when I was gigging. I hated it but at the same time I wouldn't want to drag these women through the mud over actions that made me uncomfortable but were ultimately harmless.
Don't even get me started on unwanted comments about physical appearance either. My landlady of all people commented on my weight recently with zero prompt.. If you can't handle something that boils down to "irritating but at the end of the day not such a big deal" you're gonna have a hard existing with other humans no matter what, it's that simple.
Then again I'm both white and male so apparently I have too much power to truly understand their plight. I mean in the real, actual world we live in, I have NO power over anyone, but these discussions seem to have left reality some time ago. Just preempting the inevitable response.
Heh, your gigging story reminds me of the time at a shitty open mic night. A woman followed me into the mens' after me and my dudes finished our few songs. Not ashamed to say I hit it, but ashamed to say I didn't get free of her for months, and not until after she fucked my shit up. Lesson learned, but she did teach me a lot about the female side of sex and how bachelorhood is not always a bad thing.
You're trying to say you like DOS better than me, right?
There was a female associate at one of my old jobs that would smack my ass regularly and one time sat on my lap without asking. It started happening so often despite my objection and got so annoying that I actually did go to my boss...she laughed at me and asked me if I was seriously wanting to file a complaint.
