So a "Woman Empowerment" organization going by the name "Nxivm", turned out to be a front for a perverse child sex trafficking cult and the leader (Keith Raniere) is said to have had intercourse with girls as young as twelve and he's now set to serve life in jail. Anyone remember the character; "Chloe" from Smallville? The lady that acted as her (Allison Mack) is also serving life in prison for being a top ranking member of said cult. I'm convinced that [current year] is the year of the pedophile... as a side note, I'm just going to say that I've really come to absolutely hate celebrities. www.vox.com/2018/4/25/17275930/allison-mack-smallville-actress-sex-cult-nxivm-dos-prison-arrest-sex-trafficking-keith-raniere

Its so weird in this age of the internet that everything has the illusion of being totally transparent even when its definitely not. I'm glad Raniere got caught, but its sad that this stuff is even able to happen in the first place.
I've read that sex traffickers accomplish the most by ingratiating young children when they're at their worst. If they're making posts on social media about being depressed, or wanting to run away from home or being angry with their parents, then that is when they are most vulnerable and thus susceptible to be lured into this type of thing. To fight this at its source, I really think there's a problem with the fact that too many people are feeling depressed and losing their self-respect. It requires a collective effort from all people to be more kind and friendly to everyone they know, to make people feel important and spread happiness anywhere they can.
I know that's the gayest thing I could probably say but I really believe that to be true.
