The other day my friend sent me a video on Facebook that was shared by some FB group. In the video, there's these three people talking into a FB live stream in a car, and this woman is brandishing a gun, and they were all messing around. The gun went off, and shot one of the guys in the head. They all freaked out, and left the car. With the guy having blood pour out of his head, and lie their dead on camera.
Personally, I thought it was extremely disturbing, and I wish I had not watched it. I may like violent video games, but I hate to see real violence like that. I could only imagine what kind of thoughts were going through the heads of the people in the car; as it happened; as they were running away. I could also imagine that the person that was shot had a mother, a father, a family, a significant other, and friends. It's not hard to imagine they're disgusted with the idea it's on Facebook. That people are commenting, and even "laughing" at the death of someone they loved.

My brother showed me that video saying "you wanna see some cunt get shot", I said no yet he showed me anyway, my brother is an insufferable cock and I really didn't need to see that, he found it funny yet it just made me incredibly sad.
It's an odd feeling, seeing someone actually die, I just feel hollow and lost, it just makes me stop feeling anything but sadness (not even the heat or lack there of).

I agree, I get sort of grossed out even when watching Hollywood movies. Just the thought that the dude will never breathe again, never talk again or anything really depresses me and tells me how goddamn fragile our lives are.

Why are y'all acting so down lately. It's April man, be excited. Melancholic March was last month.

I saw this video and it was pretty messed up. Though, there is far worse shit on Liveleak than that (Any video from Mexico, or Brazil). After seeing a few horrifying liveleak Brazilian videos, it's safe to say I'll never step foot in that country.

The person in your facebook group that was laughing at the person who was shot in the head probably seems like a pretty fucked up person. Who could seriously laugh at something like that? I'm positive that if the same person was in the car with them, they would be completely shocked and freaking out.
It's confusing sometimes when you're watching videos on the internet, and having to determine what it is supposed to be. If they're laughing at it, (in the form of leaving an "LOL what a dumbass" comment at it) I doubt that this really signifies that this person is incapable of feeling empathy for the person. There's just a distance that they put between themselves and the content they're watching. You're watching the video and feeling as though you are actually there in the car with them. They're real people to you, with friends and families and goals and aspirations, and it was ended at the pull of a trigger. It's really fucked up to you to think it was really any of your business to be in this intimate environment with these people where this happened and be expected to comment on it as if you know anything about these people.
The person laughing at it feels separated from the whole situation, is aware that they are in their seat at their computer desk or looking at their phone and watching a video of a crazy thing that happened that they have nothing to do with. These people may as well be characters in a cartoon. They're observing the situation objectively instead of trying to understand how it happened or what their lives will be like afterwards.
I talked a little about the ability to distinguish the difference between reality and entertainment in the graphic content thread. I think it's both very useful and important to be able to feel what other people might be feeling, as well as put your emotions aside and watch something and remain completely disconnected from the people involved. I think the ideal person is very experienced in controlling their emotions to feel them vividly in areas of their life where it is important, and being able to supress them in areas of their life where it is not.

I saw the video. It was really fucked. This is exactly why if my carry weapon is not on my belt, it is unloaded. I once went to a friends house and laid mine down on the counter and a buddy picked it up and goes, "Is this real?!" and before he could even finish the word real, I had him by the arm and pinned his hand down on the counter. You don't ever fuck with something like that.

Anyone know anything about the weapon used? In my firearms training and at the gun range most pistols have a fairly tough trigger...I mean, it just seems difficult to make one go off like that. Poor fucker at any rate. Stupidity and lack of respect is nearly the foundation of all the accidents.

I was just about to ask that same question. Do guns really just "go off" like that?
I've only ever owned spring loaded airsoft guns but like Justince said, even those had pretty sturdy triggers and it was pretty easy to remember to flick the safety on whenever I wasn't using it.

Some guns have a lighter trigger pull than others. But a gun won't just go off without some kind of action causing the reaction. I know that with shotguns especially, if you have a shell in the tube and drop the shotgun that it can go off...and some handguns (either older ones or ones that aren't in great condition) are prone to similar issues...but no, all that happened in that video was some stupid girl tried to be intimidating and "gangsta" with her finger in the trigger guard like a fucking retard and in her stupidity fueled excitement pulled the trigger while she was waving it around. The sad part is that literally everyone in that video, even the deceased, is to blame for it since nobody even really tried to stop her. The closest thing in the video I recall which resembled any kind of opposition to her actions was when the deceased uttered his final words, "You're making me nervous." and put his hand on the slide. Then she just pulled the gun away from him. Now, the gun used in the video appears to be a similar model Glock as the one I own. I know what that trigger pull is like. It didn't "just go off." She pulled the trigger because she was a dumbass and thought the clicking sound would add to her "thugnificance". Unfortunately and unbeknownst to her, even though "she had no clip in it", clearly somebody was mistaken. It's a fucking tragic thing that happened, but somebody should have grabbed that barrel, pointed it in a safer direction, and disarmed her by any (and I do mean any) means necessary as soon as the bitch started acting like an idiot.

I'm really tempted to watch this video, but I know for sure if I watch it I'll regret it so much.

As far as the regret factor goes, I have seen much worse than this. I didn't lose any sleep over it, to be honest. Sad story without a doubt, but not something I'm feeling any regret about seeing.
