Overall I really like the style and attention to detail in these maps. I think you did a very good job, though at times the maps were challenging in that 1024 map sort of way. There isn't a whole lot of room to move in some places, and sometimes I've bumping into stuff trying to avoid fireballs or getting cornered. So I'm often taking pretty heavy damage even though the monsters I'm fighting are pretty low tier. That's not a bad thing though, since I can almost tell that was the intended style. I really liked the looks of the maps and I think you did an awesome job with the detailing and the stylish look. It reminded me a lot of Kama Sutra and Shadowman's work with all the realistic touches like sector furniture and paintings on the walls, but it wasn't done in a clunky way that gets in the way of gameplay. It was done very well. I'm excited for what you come up with in the following episodes. Here's some screenshots for those who may be interested in playing: MAP01 | MAP02 MAP03 | MAP04 MAP05 | MAP06 Here's some more specific comments to the author: MAP01: Very good, no comments here MAP02: Also very good, no other comments here either MAP03: I got a little lost at one point -- I couldn't determine exactly whether I was being dumb or if where I was supposed to go was too obfuscated. Maybe you could add some light fixtures in the cave adorning the doorway to the yellow key switch to help guide the player in the right direction. MAP04: This map is good but it plays a little easier than MAP03. In comparison, its more generous with health and ammo items and is easier to navigate. MAP05: I liked the style of this map a lot, but I got a little lost -- I completely forgot where I saw the yellow key door and when I found it I didn't remember ever seeing it. It would help if it was somehow made more noticeable in the beginning. MAP06: This map was confusing as fuck to navigate. It seemed like you got kinda carried away with your mapping and didnt start this one with a particular plan in mind. It took me 25 minutes to solve. I couldn't easily tell what switches do what or what doors were completely inaccessible or opened by a switch I hadn't found yet. Hey, I recorded fdas. I have no idea where the exit was on MAP06, I quit after I got the blue key and killed everything... I would say that the action was a bit too similar, lots of low tiers in cramped places, which is fine for a small set but since you are planning to do a megawad I think it would be better if some variety in the encounters and the scale appear. It's very well done, lots of details and with a cool style.
