Thats right, the legendary scientist, Stephen Hawking, has move on to the afterlife( or whatever you presume that happens after death). He was a visionary in his field, and his works were extremly important to the human race. Heard it this morning, made my day considerably worse. Such a loss. He was who people associated physics with for many people. RIP.
On the other hand, he lived SUBSTANTIALLY longer than anyone (perhaps including himself) had expected, and 76 is an okay age. So it's probably a good way to go. I have a feeling that we'll start truly appreciating what the man did for us as a civilization only in the years to come.

I don't know what it's like to have ALS, but it didn't look to me to be a very happy existence. We're very lucky that he lived as long as he did but I truly believe he can finally at peace now.
